“30 DAYS OF PRAYER” GUIDE



Week 1:  March 20-26, 2011

 Suggested Prayer Items:

·        Quicken and enable Foothills Community to patiently pursue God’s will by faithfully seeking His face for the purpose of revealing His glory. Nehemiah 1:1-11

 ·        Reveal individual/corporate sin to us (the people of Foothills Community) and move us to repent of this sin in humility because “(God) is a God of forgiveness, gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in lovingkindness.”  Nehemiah 9:17

 ·        Establish and strengthen Foothills Community through genuine covenant relationship focused on submitting to the authority of God’s Word, being/leading Biblical families, making individual/corporate worship a priority, and supporting His work through giving.  Nehemiah 10:29-39

 ·        Supply and deepen us with Godly relationships so that we may be strengthened and not allow sin to subtly enter our lives as “…Eliashib the priest…had prepared a large room for (Tobiah), where formerly they put the …offerings for the Levites…”  Nehemiah 13:4-5

 ·        Empower and convict us to remove sin in our lives quickly like Nehemiah who “threw all of Tobiah’s household goods out of the room.”   Nehemiah 13:8  

 ·        Reveal apathy in our lives as evidence by the neglecting of God’s work, individual/corporate worship becoming a consideration rather than a priority, and by possessing culture-centered families.  Move us from apathy and ground us in Your Word and Spirit.  Nehemiah 13:10-31

 ·        Teach and direct Foothills Community to speak the Truth in love so that “we grow up in all aspects into Him who is the head, even Christ.”  Ephesians 4:15, Nehemiah 13:15-22

 ·        Unleash and Empower Foothills Community Church to “Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that (Christ) has commanded (us).” Matthew 28:19-20

·        Protect and unify Foothills Community because “the one who scatters has come up against (us).”Empower us to “man the fortress, watch the road; strengthen (our) back, summon all (our) strength.  For the LORD will restore the splendor of Jacob like the splendor of Israel, even though devastators have devastated them and destroyed their vine branches.”Nahum 2:1-2

 ·        Empower us to live sacrificial lives in Christ so that “ those who believe (are) of one heart and soul; and not one of them claimed that anything belonging to him was his own, but all things (are) common property to them.  …For there were not a needy person among.”  Acts 4:32-37  

 ·        Direct and establish Foothills Community Church as a source of hope through the faithful declaration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ by being “Christ’s witnesses…in (our personal community & the southern portion of Santa Rosa), and in all (of Santa Rosa) and (Sonoma County), and even to (all the world).”  Acts 1:8


Week 2:  March 27-April 2, 2011

Suggested Prayer Items:

·        Quicken and lead Foothills Community Church to “always offer prayer with joy for (each other)…” so that “…He who began a good work in (us) will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.”  Philippians 1:4-6

 

·        Unleash and empower Foothills Community Church to “go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that (Christ) has commanded (us).”Matthew 28:19-20


·        Direct and establish Foothills Community Church as a source of hope through the faithful declaration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ by being “Christ’s witnesses…in (our personal community & the southern portion of Santa Rosa), and in all (of Santa Rosa) and (Sonoma County), and even to (all the world).”  Acts 1:8


 ·        Remove and destroy “the one who scatters” who “has come up against us” in the name of Jesus.  Empower and equip us to “man the fortress, watch the road; strengthen (our) back, summon all (our) strength” and rest in the confidence of Christ's purpose, “for the LORD will restore the splendor of Jacob like splendor of Israel, even though devastators have devastated them (us) and destroyed their (our) vine branches.”Nahum 2:1-2


·        Reveal individual and corporate spiritual strongholds within Foothills Community Church and move us to “…remember where (we) have fallen, and repent and do the deeds (we) did at first,” knowing that “…(You are) coming to us and will remove (our) lampstand out of its place - unless (we) repent.”  Revelation 2:5


·        Enable and strengthen Foothills Community Church to “not (know) the deep things of Satan...” and to “…hold fast until (Christ) come(s)…” so that as we “keep (Christ’s) deeds until the end, ‘to (us) (Christ) will give authority over the nations; and (we) shall (shepherd) them with a rod of iron, as the vessels of the potter are broken to pieces, as (Christ) also has received authority from His Father; and (Christ) will give (us) the morning star.’”  Revelation 2:24-28


·        Build and sanctify Foothills Community Church through genuine community by “…continually devoting (ourselves) to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer,” challenging “… all those who…believe (to be) together and have all things in common…” sacrificing for Christ’s sake, even to the point of, if so led by the Spirit, to   “… sell (our) property and possessions…sharing them with all, as anyone might have need…”  Acts 2:42-47


·        Confirm and establish the leadership of Foothills Community Church through bold humility, openness, and accountability   “… and to show (their) readiness, taking precaution so that no one will discredit (them) in our generous gift…” because “…(they) have regard for what is honorable, not only in the sight of the Lord, but also in the sight of men.”2 Corinthians 8:19-21


·        Supply and deepen the individuals of Foothills Community Church with personal accountability relationships because “‘...every knee shall bow to (the Lord), and every tongue shall give praise to God…’” knowing that “… each one of us will give an account of (ourselves) to God.”  Romans 14:11-12


·        Release and guide the husbands of Foothills Community Church to “love (their) wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her,” and to sacrifice for their wives and their children so that they might be “received …with all joy…and be held…in high regard.”  Ephesians 5:25,      Philippians 2:29


·        Free and inspire the wives of Foothills Community Church to “…be subject to (their) own husbands, as to the Lord…as the church is subject to Christ.”  Ephesians 5:22,24


Week 3:  April 3-April 9, 2011

Suggested Prayer Items:

·        Empower and release Foothills Community to “not love with word or with tongue, but in deed and truth” so that others in our church and community will experience the sacrificial love of Christ.  1 John 3:18

 

·        Reveal individual and corporate spiritual strongholds within Foothills Community Church and move us to “…remember where (we) have fallen, and repent and do the deeds (we) did at first,” knowing that “…(You are) coming to us and will remove (our) lampstand out of its place - unless (we) repent.”  Revelation 2:5

 

·        Quicken and free Foothills Community to “wash (ourselves), make (ourselves) clean;” and “remove the evil of our deeds from (Your) sight, ceas(ing) to do evil.”  Change and lead us to “learn to do good; seek justice, reprove the ruthless, defend the orphan,” and “plead for the widow.”  Isaiah 1:16

 

·        Remove and destroy “the one who scatters” who “has come up against us” in the name of Jesus.  Empower and equip us to “man the fortress, watch the road; strengthen (our) back, summon all (our) strength” and rest in the confidence of Christ's purpose, “for the LORD will restore the splendor of Jacob like splendor of Israel, even though devastators have devastated them (us) and destroyed their (our) vine branches.”  Nahum 2:1-2

 

·        Reveal and move individuals of Foothills Community to see rebellion in their lives and preserve them through humble repentance as evidenced by “…not be(ing) rebellious like that rebellious house ” and “open(ing) (our) mouth and eat(ing) what (You) are giving (us).”  Ezekiel 2:8

 

·        Unleash opportunities within Foothills Community and the surrounding neighborhoods to “…love (our) neighbor as (ourselves).”  Matthew 22:39


·        Sanctify every person of Foothills Community by imparting to them the desire to “…love the Lord (their) God with all (their) heart, and with all (their) soul, and with all (their) mind.”  Matthew 22:37

 

·        Soften the hearts of the people who live in the neighborhoods directly West, East, North, and South of Foothills Community.  Change them by “…giv(ing) (them) a new heart and put a new spirit within (them); ...put(ting) (Your) Spirit within (them) and caus(ing) (them) to walk in (Your) statues, and…be(ing) careful to observe (Your) ordinances.”  Ezekiel 36:26

·        Strengthen and deepen the wives of Foothills Community by “…be(ing) submissive to (their) own husbands so that even if any of (the husbands) are disobedient to the word, they may be won without a word by the behavior of their wives, as they observe (their wives’) chaste and respectful behavior.”  1 Peter 3:1-2


·         Confirm and establish the husbands of Foothills Community by “liv(ing) with (their) wives in an understanding way, as with someone weaker, since she is a woman; and show(ing) her honor as a fellow heir of the grace of life, so that (the husband’s) prayers will not be hindered.”  1 Peter 3:7

 

·        Empower the individuals of Foothills Community to pursue holiness/ righteousness in spite of our circumstances/ preferences and to obediently step outside our comfort zones as demonstrated by the Israelites “…cast(ing) lots to bring one out of ten to live in Jerusalem, the holy city, while nine-tenths remained in the other cities.”  Nehemiah 11:1


Week 4:  April 10-April 16, 2011

Suggested Prayer Items:

·        Establish and preserve Foothills Community by “believ(ing) in the name of (Your) Son Jesus Christ, and lov(ing) one another just as (You) commanded us.”  1 John 3:23

 

·        Lead Foothills Community to “test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.”  1 John 4:1


·        Reveal and move individuals of Foothills Community to see rebellion in their lives and preserve them through humble repentance as evidenced by “…not be(ing) rebellious like that rebellious house ” and “open(ing) (our) mouth and eat(ing) what (You) are giving (us).”  Ezekiel 2:8

 

·        Reveal and move Foothills Community to not individually and corporately “tolerate” a seducing spirit, “the woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess.”  Enlighten Foothills Community to clearly see how “she (taught)/teaches and leads (Your) bond-servants (and Body) astray so that (we) commit acts of immorality and eat things sacrificed to idols.”  Revelation 2:20

 

·        Free us from being “lukewarm,” being “neither hot nor cold,” knowing that “(You) will spit (us) out of (Your) mouth.”  Empower us to completely embrace your Truth that those “whom (You) love, (You) reprove and discipline.”  Therefore, quicken us to “be zealous and repent.”  Revelation 3:16, 19

 

·        Remove and destroy “the one who scatters” who “has come up against us” in the name of Jesus.  Empower and equip us to “man the fortress, watch the road; strengthen (our) back, summon all (our) strength” and rest in the confidence of Christ's purpose, “for the LORD will restore the splendor of Jacob like splendor of Israel, even though devastators have devastated them (us) and destroyed their (our) vine branches.”  Nahum 2:1-2


·        Encourage Foothills Community to “shout for joy, O barren one,”  and release us to “…break forth into joyful shouting and cry aloud,…for the sons of the desolate one will be more numerous that the sons of the married woman.”  Embolden us reach those near us (our family, our neighbors, our co-workers, the surrounding community in Southeast Santa Rosa) and “enlarge the place of your tent; stretch(ing) out the curtains of your dwellings...; lengthen(ing) your cords and strengthen(ing) your cords.  For you will spread abroad to the right and to the left.  And your descendants will possess nations and will resettle the desolate cities.”  Isaiah 54:1-3
